Roman Polanski has signed on to direct NBC's new Pilot, "The Detective's Detective." Story follows an undercover detective fired from his ex-wife's brother's detective agency for fraudulent credentials, who goes to detective school, and ends up starting a detective agency to solve cases around the university. Unbeknownst to him, a rival undercover detective at the university is ready to detect him. Polanski made a brief comment on his decision to direct the pilot, stating that he was fascinated by the statutory limitations involved in freelance detective work. Polanski is expected to direct via phone, with as little sexual misconduct as possible.
